Sassoon docks before sunrise are unbelievably busy and full of hollers. The catch of the day is enormous and it takes a lot of fishmongers, carrier men and women to transport the treasures of the sea to the consumers. The tour is not for sensitive noses but after some time you get used to the smells. I recommend wearing waterproof covered shoes as the floor is quite wet and icky. The best part of this tour was interacting with the older people who were still working at the docks and documenting the sense of camaraderie they had developed over the years.
