VALLEY WOODS

In India, cricket is followed like religion, but I wonder if many people know how the cricket bats are made. I visited this cricket bat manufacturing factory in Jammu and Kashmir. It was for the first time that I could see how much care and finesse goes into making these "run" machines using Kashmir willow.  Workers were busy arranging, cutting, shaving and shaping the wood into sleek and powerful bats. Each bat was tested manually for ball bounce, balance and shape. I also interacted with the owner of Valley Woods and the team warmly welcomed me and my camera.
