GRAMYA SANSTHAN

Coordinated by Bindu ji, Gramya Sansthan has been active since 1996 in one of the remotest areas of Uttar Pradesh-Naugarh. The Mooltaya tribe reside in this place. In this economically and socially underprivileged tribe, the overall literacy rate is around 22%. However, female literacy is only 8%. The villagers in this region face many social, political and economic problems. Education is limited as there is only one government school which is very far from the village. Gramya Sansthan works relentlessly on issues related to human rights, violence against women, and child development. I covered the project site as part of my contribution to Asha for Education which is the main funding organization for Gramya Sansthan.
